about

A song about the selective memory we sometimes have when looking back at our past

lyrics

Me and my friends used to go out at the weekend
We’d drink and laugh and put the world to rights
And for a while it seemed like I had all the answers
But now I know how it goes

And though I knew that nothing ever lasts forever
It still seemed everything would always stay the same
But looking back on what my heart and soul were searching for
Well I don’t think that it’s me who ever changed
No I don’t think that I ever really changed

But is the way that I remember it
The way it really used to be
Or are my rose tinted memories playing tricks on me

Sometimes I think it would be nice if I could go back
A time that I have lived and I have known
But it could be that my heart is just deceiving my mind
And I don’t know if I would go

Is the way that I remember it
The way it really used to be
Or are my rose tinted memories playing tricks on me

Is the way that I remember it
Just how I really want it to be
Are my rose tinted memories playing tricks on me
Are my rose tinted memories really what I need?
